I realize the irony in reblogging a photo of this, but I’ve come to realize over the years irony is a frequent byproduct of sincerity. By which I mean: shut up and look.

Today, this past weekend, these past few months, and the past year have been filled with lots of great things, but they have also suffered through tragedy and loss of great things. Appreciate those around you – your family, friends, neighbors; that old woman you shake hands with in church and that random guy you always smile at in passing. Never take anything for granted, and when you love someone, you darned well better tell them. Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families and friends who have experienced hardships this past year and today, may they find love and light in the darkness.
